Wednesday…Hump Day!  This week is streaming by quickly!  Have you seen the Back-to-School sales already!  In fact, yesterday I took my son shoe shopping hoping to beat the rush….The Mall was crowded!  If you are caught in this rush, make life easier today and stop in and pick up one of our Take and Bake Pizza’s!  You can shop till you drop, go home, pop it in the oven and you have dinner!  Easy, Peazy!

Keystone’s Bohemian Rye is a perfect dinner choice!   Get some sliced and make Reuben’s or I like it with hard salami, mozzarella and tomato!  A perfect summer sandwich and a very good, quick dinner!  Our Bohemian Rye also comes in round loaves.  These can be sliced or you can take them home whole.  These are perfect dip bowls for appetizers or make wonderful savory soup bowls!  Fill them with a chowder or thick stew and you have a complete meal.

Have you been tied up in knots all week?  I have!  I am soooo glad that Friday is finally here!  No time to relax, though!  Helping with a fundraiser tonight and then watching my son is a Seven on Seven tournament tomorrow!  Where do all the days go?  Summer is almost over, very hopeful that we have a nice fall!  I could use some cooler weather, put on some bluejeans and a comfy sweater, and enjoy a piping hot cup of joe with some Potato Pretzel Donuts!  Have you tried these?  The potato dough is very good!  Slightly chewy, but sweet and covered with cinnamon sugar, my favorite!  I think you can get addicted to cinnamon!  I find myself putting it on everything!  In my coffee…on my ice cream!

Saturday, we have Strawberry Delight Donuts, Banana Donuts and Coconut Cream Pie!  The tastes of summer abound!  Stop in and get some of our Breads!  They make for a quick dinner!  Very nice on those very hot days!

Welcome to Tuesday!  Have you been watching the Olympics?  How great is TV right now?  I love, love, love, watching all of the sports.  So exciting and you never know who will win!

We have Lemon Meringue Pie today!  It is always a winner!  Tart and sweet with heavenly meringue!  This is my favorite pie….I think….Oooooh, Blackberry is my favorite too!  Can you have more than one favorite?

We have German Bauern Bread today!  Excellent bread with corned beef or pastrami!  Get it sliced and then pile it high with your favorite lunch meat and of course, a red ripe tomato!  Vegetarian?  A red ripe tomato and a slice of cucumber!  Fresh and delicious!  All of our breads are made fresh and without preservatives!  Natural ingredients, nothing that you cannot pronounce!

It’s Friday!  In our house, Friday is usually Pizza Day!  Who wants to go home after a long week and cook dinner?  Our Take and Bake Pizza’s are perfect!  You just pop them into a 425 degree oven for 12 to 15 minutes and you have dinner!  Use paper plates or paper towels and no dishes!  Get creative and let your children decorate their “area” of the pizza with their favorite toppings and you are sure to see smiles.

Our cases are full today!  Come in and get something sweet!  We have “Couple” desserts!  These desserts are perfect for two people.  Our Petite Toasted Almond, our small Cheesecake, or our Individual Lunch Pies are perfect for two!  Even if you are single, these desserts are great.  You can have dessert today and tomorrow, but not all week!

Our cases are full and waiting just for you!  Tomorrow, we will have Banana Cake Donuts!  These are sooooo delicious! Such a light sweet banana taste, made with real banana’s, not artificial favors.  Also on tap for tomorrow, we will have Lemon Meringue Pies!  Does anything scream summer better than Lemon Meringue?  I think not!  Have a Great Weekend.  Be safe and happy!

Blackberries are in season!  Whether you pick your own or buy them, now is the time!  We have Vanilla or Orange glazed Angel Food Cake!  Wouldn’t our Orange Glazed Angel Food Cake be simply divine with fresh blackberries?  These make a great, light dessert!

Tomorrow we feature our Garden Veggie Bread!  This bread is sooo good!  It is made with carrots, red bell peppers, spinach, sunflower seeds, barley flakes, oats, mint, malt, mixed spices and salt.  You can have it sliced in our store!  What a great sandwich bread.  How about a Grilled Cheese with our Garden Veggie Bread?  Two slices of  bread, butter each side, layer your favorite cheese, and since tomatoes are coming in, add a thinly sliced of ripe red tomatoe, top it off with a light sprinkle of basil and voila!  A killer grilled cheese sandwich! Don’t forget to grill it!

Apple Dumplings will be on tap for tomorrow!  What a delicious dessert.  Our dumplings are so big that one would easily serve two or one if you are extra hungry!

Happy Monday Mon Valley!  We are over half way through July!  Just imagine, soon it will be August and school starts!  Do I hear a resounding scream of YES!  Out there?  One man’s pleasure is another man’s (or child’s) pain!  As many of us look forward to the new school year….but don’t despair, there is still about six weeks of summer left!

Today, we have Fresh Pepperoni Rolls! These make a great snack or even lunch!  Imagine when school starts and your child looks into that lunch bag and sees a Pepperoni Roll, some veggies and a drink!  It certainly would make my day!  There is nothing more satisfying that biting into fresh bread, followed by the spice of the pepperoni!  I even have these for dinner.  Zap it in the microwave for about 15 seconds, eat with a nice, fresh, summer salad http://www.southernliving.com/food/entertaining/cool-summer-salads-00400000046866/ and a glass of wine!  Such a nice, quick, summer dinner! No need to heat up the kitchen.

Today, we have Boston Cream Donuts!  Such a nice treat on a hot and humid day!  We keep these beauties in the refrigerator case because they are filled to bursting with our delicious Boston Cream!  Stop and get one or two…while they last!

Hump Day or should it be Humph Day?  Wednesday is here….Does it feel like a longgggg week?  I think so!  It’s due to our very hot weather…everyday with the heat and humidity does certainly seem to slow down time.  At least, after today, only two days until the weekend!

Summer is here and it is HOT!  We are in for a very hot week!  With summer, comes all of the beautiful weddings!  We made a Wedding Tier of cupcakes for a Bride and Groom!  What a great alternative to the traditional wedding cake.  Very practical and so easy to serve!  Did you notice that the very top tier is the traditional top tier of the wedding cake?  You can save this…as I did and freeze it and eat it on your first anniversary!  The year old cake actually tasted pretty good!  Or of course, the Bride and Groom can cut the top tier and serve each other a slice.  Either way a very beautiful display!

Happy Monday Pittsburgh!  It is such a nice morning.  Cooler, less humidity, blue skies, and sunshine!  After such a scorcher of a weekend….today is very pleasant.  Who couldn’t be happy today after the #1 Pittsburgh Pirates gave the San Francisco Giants a spanking yesterday!  WOW!  Tim Lincecum has seemingly lost his mojo!  I remember two years ago we had a visiting priest in our parish and he spoke of having faith and believing in something.  At that time, he said he had faith that the Pirates would come back and be #1 again.  Everyone laughed…..Who’s laughing now?

Thinking about Apple Pie today?  We have Apple Pie Squares today.  Perfect for a nice treat and you won’t be tempted to eat an entire pie!  Take some to Mom, watch a baseball game together, and celebrate being an American!
