Spring has arrived in the Mon Valley!  We are seeing Daffodils, Tulips, Lilacs, and numerous spring flowers. The trees are sprouting leaves and everything looks so promising!  Keystone has many great offering this week!

Think Spring!  We have Strawberry Delight Donuts and Strawberry Whip Cream Rolls!  Also on tap this week, are Pineapple Bars, Pineapple Upside Down Cake, and Pineapple Pecan Coffee Cake.  We always have our Pineapple filled cookies, which in my opinion, are just heavenly!

Every week, we offer a variety of fresh breads!  This week, we have Old Country, German Bauern, English Muffin, Bohemian Rye, Regular Rye and Round Chateau Bread!  Everyday, we have Italian, French and our Sandwich Bread.  Stop in and try some of our bread.  Very fresh and never made with any preservatives!

We have a variety of coffee cakes this week: Maple Walnut, Apple Cranberry Walnut, Pineapple Pecan, and Plantation Pecan Coffee Cake.  Any of these are wonderful with a nice cup of coffee or tea.  They will put a smile on even the grumpiest office curmudgeon!

It is Wednesday and this crazy Mon Valley weather!  We have skipped Spring today and have summer!  80 degree and high humidity!  But, alas, it won’t last and we are forecast to be back to winter on Friday!  Enjoy the warmth while we have it!

Today, we have Buy One Petite Toasted Almond and Get One Free!  These are delicious, small cakes which are just a smaller version of our wonderful Toasted Almond Cream Cake!  If you haven’t tried our Toasted Almond, this is your chance!  The smaller version will easily serve two people and a great way to try it! Delicious, light cake layers, with whip cream and covered in toasted almonds!  Yummo!

Today is Pizza Day!  We have our delicious Cheese and Pepperoni Pizza’s available for you to take home and back in 15 short minutes!  Make dinner easy!

Mon Valley it is Spring!!!! Believe or not!  The weathermen have promised that by the end of the week…we may not need a winter coat!  On this beautiful Wednesday, chilly…but oh, the beautiful sun is shining and promising us a great day! Go outside and get some Vitamin D!

Keystone has beautiful cake donuts this morning.  Plump, soft and iced or sugared, absolutely delicious!  Wonderful with a nice, tall glass of cold milk! Stop in and take home a few to finish off that gallon of milk in the fridge!

Pineapple Upside Down Cake is on tap for today!  Delicious, light and perfect after any meal!  And fantastic for breakfast tomorrow!  Hmmm…steaming hot coffee, the sweet and tropical pineapple and brown sugar…who needs coffee cake?

Friday and Saturday, we have our wonderful take and bake pizzas!  Fantastic, easy dinner!  Pop the pizza in the oven, make a quick salad, uncork a bottle of wine…dinner is served!  Be sure to finish with one of our Buttermilk Fudge Cakes!  Our fudge icing goes well with a nice Merlot!

Good Friday and surely the Mon Valley will begin to see Spring!  We certainly have been put through a test during the month of March.  Good Friday brings many great items to the bakery. Pierogi and Ravioli are in stock!  We have four varieties of Pierogi: Potato and Cheese, Potato, Jalapeno and Cheese, or Prune…all meatless!  We have three varieties of Ravioli: Meat and Spinach, Cheese or Mushroom. All of our Pierogi and Ravioli are hand made from scratch in the bakery.  No pre-made dough or fillings!  Everything is made from fresh ingredients.  Stop in and take some today!Mushroom…Needless to say, the Cheese and Mushroom are meatless!

Holy Thursday!  The countdown to Easter begins.  Keystone Bakery is hopping!  We are busy and enjoying all of our customers this holiday season.  We have this delicious Bunny Cake available today!  So sweet and perfect for the young ones in your family.

Our bakers are currently making Meat and Spinach Ravioli so it will be available in our stores tomorrow!  The smell is heavenly!  We make all of our Ravioli from scratch.  Stop in and pick up a package.  We sell them frozen, in 2 dozen packages.  Due to limited freezer space, we cannot take orders for Ravioli or Pierogi.  They are available on a first come, first serve basis.  We open at 6:30am in Monessen and 8:30am in Belle Vernon.  Remember the early bird gets the ravioli!

We have beautiful Pascha Bread, plain or with raisins.  Such a beautiful statement this Easter season.  And of course, absolutely wonderful!!!!  If you have any leftover Pascha, it makes divine french toast!

The bakers have been baking Greek Rings today!  Love, love, love the Greek Rings!  The secret ingredient has the most heavenly smell and tastes great too!  I took home a warm one at lunch and my husband ate over 1/4 by himself! It certainly does melt in your mouth!

Wednesday and snow!  Only four days until Easter!  Keystone Bakery is buzzing with activity!  We are busy, busy, busy!  We have bunnies everywhere!  Ever wonder how we get so many bunny cookies? Well…Bunnies do what bunnies do:)  Our Bunny Sugar Cookies are so fantastic!  Slightly sweet and the sugar on top is the perfect match for the cookie.  I hope the Easter Bunny drops a few of these bunnies into my Easter Basket! My absolute favorite with a nice cup of coffee or hot chocolate!  And with the weather the Mon Valley has been having, hot chocolate is in order!  Dolly Parton has a song It’s a Hard Candy Christmas, well, it is a Hot Chocolate Easter!  Break off a piece of that chocolate rabbit and melt it in a cup of warm milk!
